A Guardia Civl unit decided to carry out a training exercise in the centre of Madrid which did not go down very well.
One female officer was dressed up in a sort of Rambo outfit, brandishing a toy machine gun and had locals panicking in terrorism-conscious Madrid, near the Plaza de España.
Stunned locals watched the woman literally crawling along a pavement striking occasional “combat postures.”
This carried on until a municipal patrol turned up to demand ID, when it became apparent that they were Guardia Civil officers on a training exercise. This did not become immediately apparent as the Guardia Civil police at first lied about their identities
You see when the Ramboid female agent was being questioned, two other Guardia Civil policemen sidled; one dressed up as a ballerina, complete with tutu, a the other as a ballet dancer.
The three at first claimed that they were members of a street theatre troupe who were carrying out a performance.
And then, finally, they confessed that they were members of the Guardia Civil on a tactical training mission designed to make the “students” lose their fear of being “ridiculous.”
The municipal police didn’t believe a word of it until a high-ranking Guardia Civil officer turned up and confirmed their story.
The Guardia Civil PR department tried to play down the incident, despite the fact that Madrid is on edge over the recent terrorist attacks in Belgium and France and the city being on a Level Four terrorist alert.
The PR department also pointed out that the machine gun that the female officer was toting was obviously a toy one, given its size and material.
Editorial comment: had they been in the States, nobody would have bothered to consider the fact that the gun could have been a toy, especially if an Afro-American was holding it…
