An American mother living in Utrera (Sevilla) allegedly stabbed her own baby, just months old, this morning, the 10th of February.

The 35-year-old woman was discovered walking naked through the streets of the Naranjal de Castillo quarter of the town, insulting passersby in English.

It was when the police escorted to her house for her to dress that they found the severely injured, 10-month-old, baby daughter. The child was rushed to Hospital Virgen del Rocío in the city of Sevilla and her condition is said to be “very serious but stable.”

The mother is under arrest and under observation in the psychiatric ward in the same hospital.

The husband, who works on the US base of Moron de la Frontera, was not at home at the time.
