Two men, both aged 34, have been arrested, accused of masquerading as gas fitters in order gain entrance to an elderly lady’s flat and steal her valuables. The 80-year-old victim lives in the city of Granada.

Both suspects have criminal records.

The men allegedly worked as a team; one keeping the victim occupied whilst the other searched the flat in order to locate and remove jewellery, etc.

It was only after they left – they were there for around 15 minutes – that she noticed she was missing her jewellery valued at 2,000 euros as well as cash.

She reported what had happened to the police and they began investigations. The police, aided by a description given by the woman, were able to identify the suspects and accumulate enough evidence to make the arrests.
