New Bus Stop Location

SAL Bus stop location OnLAs the idea of building a temporary bus-stop platform within school grounds failed, the Salobreña Town Hall has come up with a new scheme.

The latest Plenary Meeting saw the go ahead for such an arrangement on the plot reserved for the future bus station.

In other words, the buses will stop on the other side of the main road, between the trading estate and the sports facilities, instead of next to the school within town.

The project has a budget of 123,000, which has been found within the Programa de Fomento de Empleo Agrario.

Setting aside the fact that these funds are really meant for boosting the surrounding rural areas rather than urban projects, it does mean that around 50 people will find temporary employment whilst the facilities are being built.

The infrastructure will go up on a 1,685 sq/m plot, with a surface area paved in concrete and will also include a 40 sq/m building to house the toilets and waiting room.

Work is set to start “soon” and will have an execution time of six month, explained the Councillor for Public Works, Javier Ortega.
