Motril Flooding… Again

MOT Mayor inspects flooding OnLMotril Town Hall is setting up an office to deal with those affected by the heavy rains early morning yesterday, Monday the 19th.

The Mayor, Flor Almón, together with the Councillor for Citizen Safety, María Ángeles Escámez, visited the worst hit areas, down near the port.

Off all the Costa Tropical towns, Motril was worse hit, with the fire service going flat out most of the early hours, answering distress calls from locals in the Playa de Poniente , Santa Adela areas and above all the Urbanización de Pueblo Mediterráneo.

MOT Firemen flooding OnLMud on the roads also had to be removed in the Puente pañero de La Nacla in Los Tablones.

According to Councillor Escámez, at 04.20h a special crisis team was set up, including the fire service, municipal police, Guardia Civil and Protección Civil, who organized over a hundred operations.
