Guardia Civil Colonel Arrested

The Ministry of the Interior has suspended a Guardia Civil colonel, head of Internal Affairs, after he was formally charged in a drugs case.

He stands accused of silencing an investigation into a drugs ring involving another officer, Colonel F.G.S.

It took three months for the General Office of the Guardia Civil to relieve Colonel F.O.C. of his duties; not until a provincial newspaper published that he would be going to trial on the 19th of this coming November.

It appears that Internal Affairs had harboured suspicions on Colonel F.G.S. for the last 25 years; since he was a captain at the Málaga Head Quarters. These suspicions, however, never made their way up the chain of command.
