Those that like to do trail riding on mountain bikes are finding booby traps on some forest paths and tracks.

Some of the traps are literally lethal, such as cables stretched across track and sharpened stakes.

“It’s all a case of stupidity and nastiness on the part of some people who believe the mountain lands are theirs, and using such logic, are filling the woods with traps for cyclists, which have led to some being badly injured or one cyclist even killed,” explained on mountain-bike enthusiast.

As far as this province goes, the hotspot for such booby traps are around Santa Fe and both the Guardia Civil and biking clubs are issuing warnings to cyclists.
