Correo’s Prepaid Card

SPN PO Debit Card OnLThe Spanish Post Office has created what they term as the Correos Prepago Mastercard, which will allow users to pay for postal services and much, much more.

According to the Chairman Grupo Correos, Javier Cuesta Nuin, the the card was unique in Spain and completely independent of its user’s banking arrangements.

They say that it is very easy to acquire, transfer funds to, and use in general. You can request one, for instance, on www.correosprepago.es and will shortly be available for purchase at local post offices.

As said before, it is completely independent of banking accounts yet allows users to withdraw cash from ATM’s (bank cashpoints) and… from post offices. It is also accepted in any establishment that accepts Mastercard.

And like all bank cards, if you lose it or have it stolen, you can cancel it, so it is ideal for travelling.

You can even use it on the internet to make online purchases.

You can’t spend more that you have transferred to the card, so it is not a credit card, but merely a very useful debit card.
