The Granada provincial Public Prosecutor has recommended a 30-month jail sentence for two waiters who attacked each other with bottles.

The incident, which took place in Salobreña, also involved the uncle of one of the accused and he is also facing a 30-month sentence.

The brawl occurred at lunchtime on the 19th of July, in a restaurant on the seafront paseo.

Ruben MGM and Gonzalo MR, both waiters at this restaurant, began a heated argument which escalated when they both reach for bottles as weapons.

Diners had thought that the argument was over when Ruben left the restaurant, but unfortunately – especially for Gonzalo – it was to return with reinforcements in the form of his uncle and a one-sided scrap ensued.

The end results were several cuts to the face of all participants which necessitated medical treatment at the local medical centre.
