The Mayor of Almuñécar has called out the Almuñécar high-sea fleet to help clean up the debris deposited on the beaches after the rains.

All three of the cleaning skiffs have been scooping up the floating, river-borne rubbish whilst the cleaning workers pick up the same kind of debris off the beaches in the Almuñécar and La Herradura.

The cooler weather might be here but there are still plenty of visitors who want to take advantage of the still-warm sea over the weekend, so the beaches have to be inviting rather than resembling a devastated bamboo plantation.

In fact, all along the coast, in Salobreña and Motril, for example, the same type of clearing up is taking place.
