Everybody was stunned when the news broke that a father in Granada had offered his own 11-year son for prostitution on  social media. The father had added that the lad was “used to being raped.”

When the news first hit the radio, TV and newspapers, on the 17th of August, we hung back for more details, it was a good job that we did.

The very next day the police announced that it had been a sick hoax; the alleged culprit confessed to the police that he had been pulling a friend’s leg, What’s more, he wasn’t even a father.

So the man was released because there was no 11-year-old victim, even though he man had been jailed some years back for rape and murder.

It all started on the 24th of July when a user of a website dedicated to online sexual encounters came across the man’s “offer,” so he immediately alerted the Policia Nacional in Granada. They tracked the 47-year-old culprit’s IP address and arrested him.
