A 77-year-old British man was aided after injuring his ankle whilst out on a walk near Maro.
According to the Town Hall press release, the man had been spending a few days on holiday there and had joined a group of walkers on an excursion between the Nacimiento de Maro and the area known as the Cortijo del Molinero.
Upon hurting his ankle, making it impossible to continue, one of the group alerted 112 who sent out Protección Civil unit from Nerja. The fire service and Guardia Civil were also dispatched. Sounds a tad “overkill” but better that than the opposite way around.
Anyway, he was taken to the Nerja medical centre for a more thorough examination.
