Homes for Abandoned Horses

MOT Abandoned horses OnLThe Motril Town Hall and the Guardia Civil (Seprona) have managed to find a new home for a number abandoned horses in the area.

What looks to be a field has been found for a dozen horses that had been abandoned to their fate in the Playa Granada area of the municipality. Locals had made complaints to the Guardia Civil about the horses and how they presented a danger to local traffic.

Many attempts were made to establish who their owners were and contact them but it came to nothing.

Now, although the Town-Hall press release expresses gratitude to “an entity” for taking in the horses and caring for them, it doesn’t actually mention who is looking after them nor where.

We do have a photograph of the Mayor in deep conversation with one of the before-mentioned animals in which appears to be a fenced off field.

Anyway, the Mayor explained that if nobody comes forward to claim them, they will be put up for adoption.
