Salobreña Drugs Bust

playa gambron salobreñaLa Guardia Civil, as part of Operación Golía, busted a drugs ring that has been operating on the Costa Tropical for at least ten years.

Seventeen people were arrested in the Province of Granada, aged between 23 and 53-years old, residents of Salobreña, Otura, Armilla Calicasas and Cogollos Vega.

The gang leader, however, is a 46-year-old Moroccan citizen who normally resides in that country although he has a flat in Málaga.

The police pounced during the night of the 14th and early morning next day searching four houses and confiscating 2,100 kilos of hashish pollen found there.

Also confiscated were eight cars, a trailer, mobile phones and radio equipment for communication between them.

The gang had organized a drop off on Playa El Cambrón in Salobreña and moved half to a chalet in the Urbanización Costa Aguilera, whilst the rest was transported to Cogollos Vega and Armilla.
