The Motril PA warns that the building work on the Palacios de Congresos could cause flooding problems.

The work on the building site, which is at the end of the Rambla de Las Brujas, is affecting an irrigation channel, effectively, blocking it up, according to this opposition party.

The party spokesman says that he knows with certainty that the Town Hall has been informed of the situation, but is unaware whether municipal engineers have authorized it or whether the Comunidad de Regantes (irrigation association) has taken steps to avoid letting irrigation water reach it.

The terrain is waterlogged much of the winter as it is, without taking into account the approaching rains.
