The Motril Policia Local came across two men tampering with the fuel tanks on a JBC being used to move sand on Playa El Cable last weekend.

Even though the police caught them red-handed, we can only describe them having ‘allegedly’ syphoned out diesel from the fuel tank using a tube and several plastic containers and a larger one in their van.

A quick inspection of the fuel tank showed that it had been tampered with to facilitate the extraction of diesel and even more damningly, several empty petrol containers next to it.

The machinery is being used to move sand from La Playa del Cable to the nearby Playa Granada to make good sand loss from wave action.
