Pharmacy for Puntalón?

Puntalon in motril, granadaMotril PA councillor, María Ángeles Escámez, pointed out that Puntalón, lying on a crossroads between Ventanilla, Los Tablones and Garnatilla, is an important nexus. For this reason she proposes that Puntalón should have at least its own pharmacy.

The allocation of pharmacies depends upon the population ratio; i.e, one pharmacy licence for every X-amount of population.

For this reason she says that if you add the three populations of Ventanilla, Los Tablones and Garnatilla, plus that of Puntalón, this minimum ratio is reached, for at least a sub-pharmacy (botiquín farmacéutico).

The population figures concerned are: La Garnatilla 154, Los Tablones 145 Las Ventillas 156, and Puntalón 556; giving a total population of just over a thousand; sufficient for a basic pharmacy service.

She also pointed out that within Motril itself you can find three pharmacies within a 250 metre radius.

For all of the above reasons she will propose that the Puntalón area has a pharmacy or at the very least a sub-pharmacy, in today’s Plenary Meeting of the Town Council.
