No Sunday Rubbish Collection in Salobreña

Cepsa rubbish collection lorryThe PP opposition party in Salobreña laments that Sunday rubbish collections finished at the end of August, with summer not yet over.

PP candidate for mayor, Mari Carmen Vílchez, reminded the Councillor for Beaches that when he announced the beginning of the summer period he had said that it was from the 1st of July to the 15th of September, which is the case in most neighbouring towns.

She also pointed out that the Councillor for the Environment announced on the 2nd of June that whilst summer lasted, Sunday rubbish collections would continue – this service does not exist during the rest of the year.

Sra. Víchez pointed out with a touch of sarcasm that whilst the Town Hall appears to think, as far as rubbish collection goes, the summer has concluded… yet for the blue-zone parking arrangement, it has not…

Finally, she pointed out that during Easter her party had asked for rubbish collections to be increased alongside the temporary increase in population, but that this petition had been ignored yet, again, this coming Easter the blue-zone charges will be in force for this “mini summer” period.
