For the first time in La Herradura, locals and visitors alike will be able to enjoy a blues festival. The event will be held on the 12th and 13th of September.

The festival will count on national and international-level bands and guitarists, explained the event organiser Carmen López, who was accompanied by the Chairman of the Asociación de Blues de Málaga, Javier Martín.

La Herradura castle, or fort, which is a great venue for any cultural event, will be the venue not only for the concerts, but also for a an exhibition of jazz and blues-related drawings.

The first day will be an acoustic affair with performances by Fernando Beiztegui, a national-level blues musician, and the Lito Blues Band.

The following day will see a performance by blue guitarist, Richard Ray Farrel, as well as the Guitar No So Slim, both of European-level importance.

Besides the musicians performing in the castle, there will also be follow-up performances by local musicians at La Cochera starting just after midnight.

Entrance tickets can be purchased at the tourist information kiosk on the Paseo del Altillo in Almuñécar, as well as the one in La Herradura. They will also be on sale at the Pub Jabeque, as well as at the door, obviously.

The entrance ticket that covers both days costs twelve euros, or if you prefer to go to just one, then it will cost you seven euros.
