The International Classical Guitar Competition, Andrés Segovia, held yearly in la Herradura, will receive special recognition this year.

The Feria Internacional de la Guitarra or Guitar Fair, which will be held from the 11th to the 14th of September at the Palacio de Ferias y Congresos in Málaga (Fycma), will award the La Herradura competition with the Prize for Excellence for its long running international trajectory.

The official prize presentation will take place on the 13th at 13.00h at this international guitar fair in Málaga, explained the First Councillor for La Herradura Juan José Ruiz Joya.

The said fair, which will run for four days, will be the meeting point for musicians and guitar makers (luthiers), musical instrument distributors and Jedi Warrior Monks (just checking that you’re paying attention!).

I might just take my aging, headless bass along and see if somebody can sort it out… with a sledge hammer.

Oh, and by the way, if somebody picked up an Antoria fretless bass on the second-hand market anytime after May this year, drop me a line, as some bastard stole it from a hotel where I play. I will be willing to refund the sum spent on its purchase.
