A woman and a man in a wheelchair were set upon by young men from two cars after they recriminated them for driving too fast. The incident occurred on the seafront promenade in Torrenueva on Sunday the 17th at 18.30h.

Two cars, full of young men were being driven at a reckless speed along the beachfront road and as they passed by the couple, the woman, who was pushing the wheelchair, berated them for driving so fast.

The cars screeched to a halt and out jumped several young men who set upon them. It was only the intervention of passersby that made them desist and return to their cars and drive off.

The victims were attended to by the emergency services on the spot but neither required further medical attention at a hospital.

The Policía Nacional are trying to locate the suspects, armed with descriptions of the cars and the aggressors, thanks to information given by the victims and witnesses.
