Residents of La Herradura felt the ground move on the 1st of May… but just a little, and twice.
The stronger of the two tremors, with its epicentre several miles out to sea, was felt around six in the morning and reached 2.1 on the Richter Scale. The second one shortly after registered a 1.7 on the scale.
Nobody was hurt, no material damage was caused and quite a few slept through it. In fact, more people were woken by the explosion in Almuñécar earlier that same morning than by the earth tremors.
