At 21.00h yesterday evening (Friday 2nd May) the five suspects arrested over the Almuñécar flat-fire appeared before a magistrate.
She ordered that the five suspects, two women and three men, be remanded in custody pending trial, as the 72-hour, maximum detention period had been about to expire.
Update (12.00h): the women who allegedly started the fire says that she did it out of revenge as she claims the victim set fire to her house ten years ago.
Furthermore, the five suspects are all related: The said woman, her present partner, her son, her nephew and the nephew’s girlfriend – only the last is not from Almuñécar.
Finally, it appears that one of the five was used as a “pick up” to hook the victim and that at one point drugs were added to one of his drinks to bring on drowsiness.
