One For My Baby was founded two years ago when Dirk Van Halewyck (vocalist) and Jacinto Rodriguez (pianist and piano teacher from Motril) got together, it worked so well that they can now boast a 7-piece band and everything in between.
One For My Baby, then, has seven very professional musicians in the team, so that when somebody hires One For My Baby for a evening, they can choose between a Duet, Trio, Quartet Quintet, Sextet or Septet according to the occasion. Obviously, with the full backing band, the audience are guaranteed a full-throttle performance!
As for the music played, they start with Jazz (Standards/American Songbook) including not only the songs of famous names like Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole and Ella Fitzgerald, but also more recent artists like Michael Bublé!
But if you want something to make you swing your hips instead of tap your feet, then you won’t be disappointed with their South American rhythms such as Bossa Nova.
One For My Baby also perform the best pop songs, with a personal jazzy or funky interpretation of: Michael Jackson, Billy Joel, Stevie Wonder, and even some Rock‘n’Roll, which wouldn’t be complete without some numbers from Elvis or Bill Haley.
One For My Baby will provide a concert that fits perfectly with and compliments the venue: jazz clubs, restaurants, summer terraces, bars, or formal concert halls.
