With Palm Sunday a couple of days away, the question is, will the Rules autovia bridge be ready for the heavy Easter Traffic?

The Central Government promised that the bridge would be operating during Easter with all four lanes open, but it doesn’t seem likely.

Leading up to the date, provincial representatives of the Central Government continued to reassure that all would be as promised, but now that the date is much closer, they appear to have gone silent when quizzed on the subject.

Today, the 10th, was supposed to be the announcement day, but it has come and gone, but there is still tomorrow.

On the Day of Andalucia, tailbacks were caused by the roadworks, which does not bode well for Semana Santa.

Whatever happens over Easter, the plan is for the bridge to be completely closed to traffic during May (the old N-323 will be the alternative route) and then reopened for summer, only to be reduced to single lane traffic after the summer until February 2015.
