Here’s a surprise for you… not: Spain has the 2nd highest Internet prices in Europe – Cyprus has the highest.

Spain has a minimum cost for a standard connection (12 & 30Mbps) of 38.7 euros. The UK’s is 18.1 euros, Germany, 25.3 euros, France, 25.3 euros and Italy 26.3 euros.

Who pays the least? Lithuania 10.3 euros, Romania 11.2 euros and Latvia 14.6 euros. Sure, ten euros can buy you a small villa in Romania, but even so…

One thing is for sure, no matter where you are in Europe, your connection speed is far slower than what they promised you – 64% of the  7,000 million instances measured by the European Commission, who published this report, by the way.

On average, they found, most users only have 75% of the connection speed that they are paying for.
