La Curva de El Chato…

LHR Curva del Chato OnLThis time it was the turn of the Barrio Arenas de La Mezquita, in La Herradura, to receive a sticky new layer of tarmac.

The First Councillor, Juan José Ruiz Joya, never far from the business end of a camera, explained how this old section of the N-340 serves a dozen or so houses, on the bend known as the Curva de El Chato, or if you prefer, “The Bend of the Snub-Nosed One.”

“This is a short lane of sum 400 sq/m of tarmac, but one of vital importance to the locals because with the frequent rain it becomes a goat track, although it is used by ambulances and other public service vehicles, as well as the locals,” said the First Councillor… somewhat cryptically. We say, ‘cryptically’ because we’re not quite sure what he was trying to say, bless him.

But anyway, no doubt the locals… and the goats, will be pleased with this newly tarmacked lane.
