Nerja Councillor for Commerce, Nieves Atencia, has just promised that this summer the streets of the town centre will have awnings. Yes, elections are never very far away, you may conclude.

The money to fund this shade is not shady but the fruit of a grant from the Provincial Board of Tourism.

The project budget of 69,700 euros (20% supplied by the Town Hall) should result in the first streets being covered by the beginning of June.
