It must be great to have friends with lovely houses that they don’t use that often. So it was that a  family decided to stay in a rather posh area of New York over the New Year period in a cottage owned by their friend. However, when they arrived on December 30th at the property in Hampton, they were rather surprised to see two police officers having sex in the premises!

The, as yet, unnamed police officers were a 31-year-old patrolman and a 20-year-old, female, part-time traffic-control officer. Unfortunately, the officers was so immersed in some sort of evidence gathering cavity search, they didn’t even realize that they had been spotted. So, the family quietly exited and went down to the police station and reported two intruders in their friend’s property that looked like police officers, but wearing little more than police caps and smiles.

By way of explanation, the property is owned by a Manhattan interior designer, called J. Arthur Dunnam. The part-time, female officer topped up her lowly police salary by working as a maid at the cottage and she therefore had a set of keys.

Well, rich or not, Mr. Dunnam was really not keen on the thought of his maid polishing a fellow officers weapon while he was away and he has pressed charges. The maid has since been sacked (literally and biblically by the looks of things) and the full-time officer has been suspended without pay.

The area Police Chief, Gerard Larsen, has told local press that there is “an ongoing, internal investigation” but would not be drawn on the question of whether the police officer would face charges for discharging his weapon unlawfully.
