Just days after the fire in Jete, a small fire occurred behind Barrio Los Marinos in Almuñécar.

Fortunately, the fire only destroyed a small piece of wasteland covered in grass along the China Gorda hill lane. However, the land is completely surrounded by housing, so the fire did cause not inconsiderable alarm.

The Almuñécar fire service and Policía Local removed the cars parked nearby before the fire could damage them.

It is thought that the fire could have been accidentally provoked by kids with Christmas fireworks.
