La Universidad Experimental del Ron (The Rum Experience University, www.rum-uni.com), will be holding its first course from the 16th to the 20th of September on the Costa Tropical.

The Coordinator for the course, Ian Burrell, who set up the London Rum-Fest and who is one of the top experts on rum on an international level explained, “It will be an intensive course with limited places, where those taking part can learn all there is to know about this drink. They will see how the cane is grown, how it is cut, the distillation process and the best forms to age the beverage. They will also learn cocktail techniques for rum.”

The classes will be given by historians, gastronomic experts, scientists and business people from the top brands of rum.
