Around 09.30h this morning 53-year-old Jose Manuel B.R. was electrocuted whilst working on the fuse box of a heavy-duty, irrigation-well pump. Although Otívar born, Jose Manuel lived and worked in Almuñécar.

The incident occurred on a farm on the Cuesta Cordovilla, on the road leading up to Peña Escrita. It was a farmer who called the Policía Local and the Guardia Civil, who immediately arrived with an ambulance and firemen. The farmer had found him already dead and still attached to the electrical wiring in the pump room.

Although the cause of death is obvious, the body will still undergo a post-mortem examination.
