The Motril Customs Police at Motril Port discovered a car carrying 340 kilos of hashish hidden in the bodywork when the ferry from Alhucemas docked.

The 60-year-old driver of French nationality was rumbled when the police carrying out a routine check on the vehicle noticed a strong smell of je ne sais quoi, so they decided to turn the car inside out – the more they took it apart; the more neat packets of hashish emerged.

He was sent immediately to jail to await trial. Voilà
