Light-Fingered Frenchmen’s Collars Felt?

The Guardia Civil based in the Puerto de Motril arrested two Frenchmen in possession of a stolen high-range car. The two men had been attempting to board the car ferry for North Africa with the vehicle, which had been reported stolen in France.

The policemen on duty were carrying out routine checks on car documents and noticed that they included a rental contract that appeared to have certain irregularities, so they checked up on it. In effect, it was a hire car. However, the French authorities had the car down as sustraido (stolen) and the car-hire document was a forgery.

The two Frenchmen, aged 23 and 20, were immediately arrested and the car impounded pending a judicial decision.
