At the end of last month (29th) the Consorcio Provincial de Bomberos put out a fire around half past eight in the evening in the Almijara area, next to the electricity substation.

The fire affected 2,000 sq/m of mountain shrub and a few dwellings were temporarily evacuated. In the end, fortunately, the fire never reached them.

This was the second fire of the day, however, as another fire had to be dealt with, this time breaking out around four in the afternoon in the Pago de la Laguna area, which is near Maro. The fire burnt grassland and shrub.

It was the Mayor of Maro, himself, Javier López, who reported the fire to the fire station.
