Why let the truth get in the way of a good story… or so the saying goes. But we have to confess to being more than a tad disappointed that this story, that was doing the worldwide rounds of the Internet, may well be a hoax. It concerns a Swedish farmer called Hasse and his death by sexual intercourse with a hornet’s nest.

To say that the story sounded a bit far-fetched would, admittedly, be true… but the bloated unconscious Hasse being found by his neighbour, who at first believed it to be a whale carcass, sounds so plausible.

So, it would appear that there was no bloated corpse, no multiple stings to the genitals and no pubic hair found in the nest exposing his sexual intent.

Sadly, and this is merely a reflection of my own warped and soiled mind, I quite liked the image of Hasse standing by a tree on his farm in Sweden, screaming in agony holding the oval nest of pain against his thrusting genitalia… but sadly, the whole sorry tale was made up by the author of a satirical website in Sweden who, obviously, is even more disturbed than myself.
