The Nerja Councillor for the Environment, Nieves Atencia, has announced the leasing out of the mountain tourist hostel, The Casa de Los Mineros, in the Fuente del Esparto, together with the bar in El Pinarillo.

The lease has gone to the same company that runs the Peña Escrita mountain park in Almuñécar.

Councillor Nieves Atencia says that through this leasing the Town Hall intends to improve the town’s rural tourism services, which she says, is on the rise.

This is part of the push to promote the Parque Natural lying within the municipality, which for many is an unknown asset.

The hostel has 20 beds distributed amongst five modules, as well as a series of common areas, such as a living room, terraces, bathrooms, etc.

It is hoped that the company that will be managing it will open the premises by the end of the month.
