One of the prettiest areas of Salobreña is El Paseo de las Flores, which is just below the castle battlements. The steps that lead down from there to the lower part of town are now under repair.
Apart from the steps themselves that are being repaired, there is also the wooden handrail and the pillars that hold them. The lighting along the way is also being revamped, explained the Councillor for the Environment, Martín Valenzuela, who was accompanied by the Head of Public Works, Javier Ortega and the Chairwoman of the International Club, Helen Mackormack.
The reason that a representative of the International Club was present is because they donated the takings from the Ecorastro that is held each Saturday in the Parque de la Fuente to this project and other environmental ones.
The idea is to restore some of these picturesque corners of the town that have deteriorated through time and acts of vandalism, more than anything.
Enhorabuena, the International Club.
