The Mayor of Motril, Luisa García Chamorro and the Councillor of Many Titles, Nicolás Navarro were out visiting the Cuartel de Simancas area of town.

The visit was to coincide with the conclusion of the work there, which basically turned a large earth covered area into a concreted one, which is a vast improvement to the dusty-cum-muddy arrangement of before. This work was part of the ongoing campaign to spruce up Motril.

Councillor Navarro pointed out that this concreting work was accompanied by the tidying up of the green area and the placing of a fence around the sports area.

The residents of the neighbourhood are content, as they have been calling for something to be done about the muddy area for some time.
