Two people were arrested, one from Salobreña and the other from Molvízar, accused of three bank robberies.
The Grupo de Atracos de Policía Nacional in Granada arrested the two men for robberies carried out in Granada, Málaga and Almería, grabbing a total of 256,000 euros. The first was carried out on the 10th of March 2011 in the city of Granada. At the end of that same year they struck again but this time in Málaga, using the same modus operandi; i.e. masks and replica firearms. The third hit was in Almería on the 12th of July.
After this first raid the police investigation intensified leading to the suspects being located on the Costa Tropical. Witnesses had commented that the robbers were always well dressed and well mannered… apart from threatening to kill anybody that got in the way, that is.
One of the arrested men who answers to the initials of E.R.E is 25 years old and is a resident of Salobreña and a Spanish national, who has a criminal record. The other suspect is 34-year-old G.B.G. from Italy, who has no criminal record.
