The Town Hall, through the Public Administrator of the Motril cleaning firm has responded to the workers committee’s accusations, published in the Seaside Gazette and Spanish newspapers.
He accuses the workers committee of simply attempting to stir up conflict. He rejects that the Town Hall has incremented the budget for the Plan de Saneamiento by 2m euros to accommodate the salaries of politically appointed posts, pointing out that the said budget remains, as it was, at 1.2m euros.
Councillor Garcia Fuentes, who is the right-hand man of the Mayor, said that the financial situation of the publicly owned cleaning company, Limdeco, is critical as the Town Hall perceives 3.5m euros through the taxes levied on the town for rubbish collection, which falls far short of what is needed as just the personnel costs reach 8.3m euros.
Doesn’t look too good, then, does it, Folks.
