La Herradura Band Night

The Banda de Música Histórica de Almuñécar played in the Plaza Nueva in La Herradura, providing a Jazz Special as the closing touch to a Saxophone and Clarinet course.

The concert was conducted by Manuel Vargas Gardón, as well as the conductor of the Puebla del Río de Sevilla municipal band, José María Gómez Díaz. Joining the band members were music teachers from the course.

The first part of the concert saw the band play: Que rico mambo, What a wonderful world, Mambo, El cumbachero and Copacabana, whilst in the second part, Curro Bruna
accompanied by the band, played such numbers as: New York, New York,
Mack the Knife, Fly me to the Moon
and Feeling Good.

The audience, which filled the square, asked for an encore at the end of the performance – a sure indication that they enjoyed the performance.
