The La Herradura Medieval Fair kicks off on Friday the 15th at 18.00h and will conclude on Sunday. There will be stacks of activities, ranging from birds of prey to donkey rides, bouncy castles to the village’s brick and mortar one, and plenty of Medieval costumes and tasty morsels.
Saturday morning starts at 11.00h and an hour later there will be a Medieval music concert. At 13.00h there will be an exhibition of falconry; i.e., hunting with birds of prey – so keep your toddlers close…
Of course, no Medieval Market is complete without fire eaters and jugglers. Witch burning and the Black Death have been scrubbed from the agenda owing to a lack of matches, compliant witches and black boils – cursed spending cuts!
Then on Sunday we kick off again at 11.00 with 20 traditional games for kiddies and adults, sprinkled with chaps on stilts and crazed mono-cycle lunatics.
During the three days, quite apart from the stalls where wares will be on sale, there will also be leather, bread-making and sculpturing workshops.
Come along and enjoy it – and bring your mother-in-law and a box of matches, just in case. Got spotty, adolescent kids? Bring ’em along together with a hand-bell – tell them that they’ll be taking part in a hoodies’ convention!
