Blocked, Bridge Arches Cleared

The arches of the old bridge over the Barranco Las Tejas had become clogged with vegetation, washed down by the recent rains. Fortunately, the Town Hall has now rectified the situation, removing the debris.

If you have any doubt where we are talking about, it is the dry river course that leads up from the beach, just past the chemist and takes you under the bridge, coming out on the N-340.

“This kind of work is in high demand by locals who fear that the clogged water courses will overflow, damaging property. The task was not easy as under the bridge are several water pipes, which needed to be protected, as well as the removal of silt etc,” explained the First Councillor for La Herradura, Juan Jose Ruiz Joya.
