Salobreña Debt Worry

Yet another alleged failure to pay bills by the previous PP administration in the Salobreña Town Hall has come to light. This time it’s the company that has the contract to clean the streets, Fomento de Consrucciones y Contratas.

The present administration says that there is a debt owed to Fomento of more than 12 million euros, accumulated since 2005.

The new mayor, Gonzalo Fernandez Pulido (PSOE), claims he has taken over to find the town coffers empty and a pile of unpaid bills, which was in part to be expected. However, this huge bill owed to the contractors who keep the streets clean is a very large headache that is not going to just disappear.

What next for the new administration?
