Gualchos Brush Fire

One hundred hectares of mountain shrub went up in flames near Gualchos on the 19th, making it the largest incident of its kind in the province of Granada this year.

Lawyers on Strike

(Province of Granada) Granada’s lawyers have decided to suspend their services to the state as abogados de turno de servicio; i.e., defence lawyers appointed and paid for by the state where the defendant is unable to pay his own legal fees.

At Least Two Dead in Helicopter Crash

At least two people are dead following a helicopter crash, this morning, in the area known as La Fuente de la Gitana, which is in the Granada province between Tocón de Quéntar and La Peza. It also appears there are several people injured.

The Guardia Civil in Guadix are investigating the case of a dead farm worker, found with a shotgun wound to the face. At the scene of the crime there were also a dozen burnt out farm vehicles.
