(Granada capital) What about the burglar that hid under the bed and pretended to be unconscious when the police discovered him? Ragingly optimistic of him, no doubt. You can almost imagine the conversation, can’t you?
Come out from under there!
I can’t; I’m unconscious…
You bloody will be if you don’t…
Anyway, that is what our 31-year-old bungling burglar honestly expected the seriously-short-on-humour, Guardia Civil to believe.
The police had been tipped off by a neighbour that something suspicious was taking place next door, so they stomped round to the address. Once there, they found that the window bars had been bent apart and the Persian blind forced open.
A quick inspection of the house, along the lines of ‘coming ready or not’ produced this unresponsive individual who miraculously regained consciousness as the handcuffs clicked home.
