The Vice-Mayor of Motril, José García Fuentes, announced the II Torneo de Golf to be held on Sunday the 14th of August in the Los Moriscos Golf Club, which has been organised by the Asociación de Vecinos de Playa Granada.
This year, the competition is going to be held in honour of the much-loved Spanish, international golfer, Severiano Ballesteros, who many will remember died in May, following lengthy treatment for a brain tumor.
“The Vice Mayor considers that the 60 participants that have so far put their names down, demonstrates the success of the competition and shows that golf is becoming more popular amongst the Motrileños. Of course, visitors off the cruise ships anchored in Motril Port also provide a growing number of Club Los Moriscos users.
Anybody who would like to participate, but still haven’t come forward, can do so for a fee of 50 euros, which includes the green fees and dinner at the Mirador del Buqué from 22.00h, The golf tournament will be along the lines of stabelford with four categories (2 for the ladies and 2 for the gents). There will also be a prize for the closest to the hole.
You had better hurry, if you want to play, as the time limit for inscriptions is tomorrow afternoon and the inscription fee must be paid upon booking.
