This piece of regional news come from the province of Jaen and deals with a man who, impersonating a policeman, allegedly kept a woman locked up for three days in her house, sexual abused her, and for good measure, robbed here.
The victim, a Dominican woman, had been promised by the 48-year-old bogus policeman all the relevant paperwork to legalise here presence in Spain, she claimed. He had contacted her in Granada, convincing her that he was the answer to her prayers, and by moving to Linares in the province of Jaén, where he ‘worked in the Foreigners Department,’ all would be well.
It appears that he had it all set up, probably waiting for the right victim. The nice friendly ‘policeman’ even reportedly offered to put her up in his flat until the paperwork was arranged. What a nice chap!
However, no sooner than she was there, he had slipped a sedative into a drink, knocking her out. And there she remained, slipping in an out of consciousness whilst he allegedly had his wicked way.
Whilst he was doing that, he was also nipping out to use her bankcard, stealing all she had to her name; 1,000 euros, the police believe.
She finally managed to come around enough to escape and make her way back to Granada and putting aside her fear of deportation, she approached the Guardia Civil in Armilla and recounted what had happened to her. A medical examination showed that she had a high amount of benzodiacepines her blood still, which is used as a sedative.
