Just before Christmas I stopped off at Inter, the language school, just opposite Plaza Mayor in Almuñécar, and Jimmy, who runs this brilliant school told me about their courses and work ethic.
They pride themselves on having highly qualified teachers, using a communicative approach to all lessons, which are always conducted in a friendly atmosphere.
The idea is to base the lessons on interaction and conversation, so you learn the practical language that you would use in everyday situations.
There are longer term courses, which are ideal if you are a resident and intend to properly get to grips with the Spanish language, and courses that are both intensive and semi-intensive for those who want to study every day. There are even one-to-one private lessons.
Just think… in your favourite shop, the shopkeeper who is always kind and polite, and all you can do is say ‘hello’ and ‘thank you’, well contact Inter now, and in a short time you could be asking after that shopkeepers family, and sharing a joke about weather!
